Mike Fair should be laughed out of office for proposing a porn-tax. Why? Because the government can't impose taxes selectively on media.

I suppose if Fair were a lawyer or legal scholar rather than an insurance salesman he would know this.

Of course, this type of political posturing is designed not to succeed, but to win support among Fair's vicious and small minded religious supporters in Greenville. The danger is that the SC general assembly is stacked with bone head bible freaks just like Fair... thus stupid, short sighted legislation is only one tent revival away from being passed.

Isolated wetlands serve an important purpose, even when surrounded by development, because they absorb nitrogen-heavy runoff that would otherwise run into storm drains and into the rivers.

Not only that, but the expansion was a bellwether of what would be allowed on the still relatively rural half of JI.

The Wal-Mart opposition was a frenzy, but it worked. It's true that Wal-mart gets folks riled up like nothing else, but now IRE has got an email list of a couple thousand people who can motivate against other growth issues.

This is a big win for James Island, more for the implications on future issues than stopping this one store from building on protected wetlands. Let's see who shows up to the I-526 Environmental Impact meeting this Thursday.

A petition signing frenzy is a good thing, in a world where we let people steal questionable elections, let neocons control our media (Clear Channel), and anti-war protests turn out measly numbers while our economy falls to shambles. You've heard it before, but more people voted for American Idol than the president. That's fucked up. We need more frenzies.

The federal government is almost right on salvia. Gever, not so much.

Mushrooms = Squirmy colorful visuals, the giggles, heightened sensation, confusion

Salvia = time ends, universe rips wide open, complete loss of muscular control, vision goes black

It's kind of like turning four bottles of Robitussin into powder form and snorting it all at once.

I'm not really one to say either, but I've learned a lot from Erowid.com

Damn straight. May I never again be asked if Davidson is a community college. And if I've got to talk about a fellow student I don't know to people I also don't really know, at least it's a badass like Stephen Curry and not some pantywaist like Tony Snow nose, Woodrow the Defector Wilson, Walter slow talkin Edgars, or god forbid, Dean effing Rusk.

Yeah, so Go Dav-Town! We kicked some ass.

From the mentioned P&C story on sand castles...
"Tourists often abandon their tents, coolers and surfboards for others to enjoy. The proposed law would require people to pick up after themselves and knock over sand castles before leaving the area."

Isle of Palms town council, maybe the sand castle fines can pay for all the sand you're buying Wild Dunes?

If anyone is considering leaving a surfboard on Isle of Palms, please reconsider. Leave it at 6th block, west side, on Folly.

"Council of Conservative Citizens, a group with a markedly white agenda."

Do you mean as opposed to association with LaRaza or MEChA or NAACP or The Black Caucus or the Hispanic Caucus or any other of hundreds race based political and lobbying groups for "people of color"? You aren't myopic or prejudice are you?

In regards to pharmaceuticals in the water supply,I, think it is some sort of Trickle-Down-Torturomics from the W Administration. They have likely already perfected the technique down in Guantanamo. In the coming weeks someone will leak pictures to the press of detainees sporting turbans, training bras and Turkish towers. Hopefully we'll get some video on the scene as the whole lot of them are tossed into the ring for the final Jihad-style Smackdown! The anger that must be built up inside them, not having any women around to beat. Now the budding breasts. Oh the madness!

Maybe W is a genius. Either that or he got confused somewhere between wire-tapping and tap water.

YouTube is the new Big Brother.
In the case of David Motari, the Iraqi soldier who threw a puppy from a cliff, maybe that's not a bad thing. But in four days of this going public, you can already buy cheeky t-shirts with "That was mean, Motari" emblazoned on them.
If WCBD wants some really good reaction footage, set this one up on the street and let it roll...
